Abstract:Objective：Investigate the current status of doctors engaged in maternal and child specialties in county-level medical institutions in Nantong City，compare and analyze their human resource composition and practice status. Method：Design a questionnaire for physicians’ competence in county-level medical institutions in Nantong City，and investigate the status quo of doctors engaged in maternal and child specialties. Result：The study found that there were differences in the gender ratio，professional counterpart ratio，master degree or higher ratio，intermediate or higher professional title ratio，and staffing ratio among various units. The investigators founded the characteristics of low professional counterpart，lack of pediatricians，and few general practitioners. Conclusion：Entitle county-level medical institutions to use recruitment rights autonomously，expand the channels for promotion of professional titles，strictly control the professional positions. Conduct targeted enrollment and targeted employment for pediatrics and general medicine in medical colleges，expand the team of physicians in county-level medical institutions，and deeply explore the coordination mechanism of medical complex，coordinate between superiors and subordinates，promote the improvement of the ability of doctors engaged in maternal and child specialties
