Abstract:Objective：To describe the current situation of the development of medical and health professionals in Xiamen. Then to find out the existing problems and propose corresponding countermeasures for them. Lastly，to provide reference for the relevant departments to formulate medical and health professional development plans. Methods：Based on the data of National Health Statistics Information Network Direct Reporting System，combined with the on-site investigation and discussion of Xiamen medical and health institutions，the status quo of Xiamen medical and health talent team was analyzed. Results：There are some prominent problems on health human resources in Xiamen，such as insufficient total health talents，low quality and structural imbalance. Conclusions：In face of these problems on the development of human resources for health，we should strengthen the development of medical education，increase the total amount of health human resources，and strengthen the continuing medical education and training of the existing health human resources to improve the overall quality. And we should also optimize the structure，adjust the distribution and improve the fairness of health human resource allocation to promote the development of health human resources in Xiamen.
