Abstract:Objective：To enable students of optometry major to combine theoretical knowledge with practical ability， cultivate students’ clinical thinking ability and communication ability，and improve overall quality. Methods：A questionnaire survey was conducted among the undergraduate students of the Department of Optometry at 2014，2015 and 2016. Results：The implementation of early professional practice has great significance in deepening students’ professional awareness and improving medical students’ clinical thinking ability and doctor-patient communication ability. Conclusion：Through professional practice activities，students can clearly understand the development direction of optometry，improve the teaching and examination methods，strengthen the combination of theory and professional skills，and provide reference for professional teaching.
