Abstract:Objective：To analyze the changing trend of demographic distribution of unpaid blood donors in Yangzhou from 2013 to 2020，so as to provide basis for optimizing the recruitment scheme and promoting the healthy and sustainable development of unpaid blood donation. Methods：According to the demographic information of unpaid blood donors provided by Yangzhou safe blood transfusion information management system，the effects of the changes of age，gender，occupation and educational background of blood donors on blood donation were analyzed. Results：From 2013 to 2020，the number of male and female blood donors in Yangzhou basically maintained an upward trend，but the proportion of female blood donors increased from 38.32% in 2013 to 39.91% in 2020.Although the number of blood donors with master’s degree is generally small，the proportion of blood donors has increased the most，from 1.53% in2013to 3.27% in 2020，and the proportion of blood donors with bachelor’s degree has increased from 14.43% in 2013 to 21.65% in2020.The number of blood donors from students and civil servants fluctuates every year，increasing and decreasing. The proportion of blood donors from medical personnel has increased from 4.63% in2013 to 6.3% in2020. The number of blood donors from teachers is basically the same. The proportion of blood donors aged 18-35 has a downward trend，the proportion of blood donors aged 36-45 has an obvious downward trend，the proportion of blood donors aged 18-45 has decreased from 76.42% in 2013 to 64.87% in 2020，and the proportion of blood donors aged 46-60 has increased significantly，from 23.58% in 2013 to 35.12% in2020. Conclusion：The demographic structure of unpaid blood donors in Yangzhou has changed significantly in the past 8 years. In the future work，according to the optimization of the recruitment scheme and the implementation of accurate recruitment for specific groups，more blood will be collected to meet the growing clinical blood demand.
