Abstract:Objective：To compare the rehabilitation status of elderly patients with hip fracture discharged from hospital to home or community nursing centers，and to reflect the different effects of the two types of care on the postoperative life of the elderly. Methods：The data of 138 elderly patients with femoral intertrochanteric fracture aged≥80 years treated in our department from January 2018 to December 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. According to where to go after discharge，they were divided into two groups，home and community care institutions. All patients underwent minimally invasive surgery and functional rehabilitation in accordance with enhanced recovery after surgery. BMI index，delirium，out of bed time，deep vein thrombosis were collected，as well as hip Merle D’Aubigne functional score，independent out of bed，BMI index and death after 6-month and 12-month follow-up. Results：There were no significant differences in general indicators such as age，gender，fracture type and ASA grade，delirium，out of bed time，deep vein thrombosis，preoperative and 6-month postoperative BMI between the two groups（P > 0.05）. The last follow-up BMI index，Merle D’Aubigne hip joint function score，independent bed rate，the difference between the two groups was statistically significant P < 0.05，the community group was better than the home group. The mortality rate at 6 months after operationand 12 months after operation，the mortality rate of the community group was lower than that of the home group. Conclusion：Community care for the elderly after hip fracture is better than family care，and the postoperative quality of life is relatively higher. Community care institution is the first choice for the elderly to be discharged after operation.
