Abstract:Objective：To analyze the changes in the number of pediatric inpatients admitted，average cost per visit，average length of stay and the types of diseases admitted before and after COVID-19 in a certain grade Atertiaryhospital in Yangzhou. Methods：The data of inpatients with pediatric diseases in the hospital from July 2018 to June 2021 were analyzed retrospectively，and the changes of the number and types of diseases admitted before and after the epidemic were analyzed. Results：After 2020，the number of pediatric discharged patients was significantly lower than before the outbreak of the epidemic in 2020，and decreased by 13.3%.Compared with 2020，the proportion of middle respiratory infectious diseases admitted to hospitals decreased significantly，24.49%.While the average length of stay decreased by 10.1%，the average cost increased by 6.5%. Conclusions：After the COVID-19 outbreak，people’s lifestyle and personal protection have changed greatly，and the number of discharged pediatric patients has decreased significantly，which to some extent liberates the workload of pediatricians. Due to its advantages of convenience and reduction of cross infection，Internet hospital business has ushered in unprecedented development opportunities. The medical insurance administrative department should give full play to the economic leverage of medical insurance policy，perfect various medical insurance policies and improve the ability to deal with public health emergencies.
