Abstract:Objective：To analyze the importance and necessity of medical accident insurance and to explore the ways of popularizing medical accident insurance. Methods：Interviews were conducted with doctors，and telephone return visits were conducted among the policyholder who purchased surgical accident insurance to understand their demographic data and issues related to the subject of medical（surgical）accident insurance. Descriptive analysis，chi-square test and other statistical methods were used to analyze the data. Results：The medical side more agree with the role of medical accident insurance，the purchase of surgical accident insurance can reduce the psychological burden of both doctors and patients to a certain extent，and make up for the economic losses of patients with postoperative complications，but did not get the desired promotion effect. Conclusion：Medical（surgical）accident insurance is an important way to supplement and improve the medical risk sharing mechanism，and its promotion effect needs the cooperation of the government，the hospital，the patients，the general public and insurers.
