Abstract:Objective：To study the changes in pediatric internal medicine emergency department visits，analyze the patterns and formulate corresponding countermeasures. Methods：Monthly visits to the pediatric internal medicine emergency department of the certain hospital in 2018-2023 were selected and statistically analyzed to study the trend and seasonal peak patterns. Results：There was an increasing trend in the number of visits from 2018-2023，with a surge in the number of visits in 2023，and the seasonal characteristics of the peak of visits were quite obvious. Conclusion：The surge in pediatric emergency department visits poses a new challenge to the improvement of the diagnosis and treatment capacity of children’s medical institutions，and it is necessary to improve the diagnosis and treatment capacity and alleviate the pressure of children’s peak visits by carrying out “pre-diagnostic laboratory tests”，formulating a contingency plan for the peak visit，real-time monitoring of the number of visits，and rationally deploying medical resources.
