Abstract:Objective：To understand the social responsibility of different levels of public hospitals and different regions in China. Methods：A total of 20 public hospitals in eastern，central and western China were selected according to the principle of randomness. All reports published on the official websites of the hospitals from January to December 2019 were searched and downloaded. After screening and eliminating，1，992 valid data were included in this study. Content analysis was used to classify the reports，and statistical analysis used descriptive statistics and chi-square test. Results：Among the 8 social responsibility behaviors of public hospitals，the frequency of education，scientific research and technology cooperation is the highest and the proportion of price preference is the lowest. There are great differences in the social responsibility behaviors of tertiary and secondary public hospitals，and there are also different in eastern，central and western regions. Conclusion：Fulfill social responsibility is a basic obligation for public hospital. Public hospital should incorporate it into their strategic development planning，and expand the forms of social responsibility to reflect their social benefits.
