Abstract:Objective：To provide basis for clinicaldiagnosis，treatment and prevention of related diseases by analyzing the death of elderly hospitalized patients，so as to reduce the incidence rate and mortality of the elderly. Methods：A total of 492 elderly patients died in a certain hospitalduring the five-year period from 2017 to 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the international classification of diseases，the statistics were summarized from the aspects of age，gender，cause of death and season. Results：The mortality rate of elderly patients was 0.18%.The mortality rate of male patients was higher than that of female patients. Circulatory system diseases accounted for the first place among the dead patients，injury poisoning and tumor accounted for the second and third places respectively. Among them，79.07% died of vehicle accidents among the causes of injury and poisoning. In addition，the death of elderly patients mostly occurred in winter，the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion：Among the diedelderly patients，circulatory system disease is the main cause of death. It is necessary to pay more attention to the health care of male elderly patients and strengthen the prevention and treatment of elderly patients in winter，so as to reduce the mortality.
