Abstract:Objective：To understand the distribution characteristics of dead patients in acertain tertiarypublic hospital，and to provide strategic basis for hospital management. Methods：A total of 295 patients who died in a certain tertiary public hospital from 2019 to 2021 were screened from the information system，statistical analysis of death risk factors. P < 0.05 indicated that the difference was statistically significant. Results：Male patients and patients aged ≥60 years had a higher proportion of deaths，and patients aged 45-59 years old had higher average hospitalization days and average cost per time，and the difference was statistically significant.The incidence of nosocomial infection in dead patients was higher. The number of hospitalization days and hospitalization expenses are higher.The top three causes of death in this hospital are circulatory system diseases，malignant tumors，and various injuries or poisoning diseases. Conclusion：Hospitals should strengthen the monitoring of key inpatient populations，control the incidence of nosocomial infection，improve hospital medical technology，and reduce the mortality rate of hospitalized patients to the greatest extent.
