Abstract:Objective：The characteristics of underage medical dispute cases in acertain grade A tertiary hospital in Jiangxi Province were analyzed，so as to provide reference for reducing the occurrence of similar medical disputes and improving the medical quality and management efficiency of medical institutions. Methods：The age，disease，department and cause of disputes，solution and compensation amount of 51 underage cases of medical disputes were extracted and analyzed by statistical methods. Results：Of 51 cases，9 cases（17.65%）were not compensated，and 20 cases（39.22%）were paid less than 50，000 yuan. The incidence of disputes among adolescent patients was high（33.33%），and circulatory system diseases accounted for a relatively high proportion（25.49%）. Medical disputes often occured in surgery，and were mostly caused by medical technical negligence. The main way to solve medical disputes was in-hospital consultation（43.14%）. There is a correlation between the amount of compensation and the department of dispute occurrence，the type of fault and the way of dispute resolution. Conclusion：Because the juvenile patients do not have full civil capacity，medical staff should be more cautious in the process of diagnosis and treatment. Medical institutions should strengthen medical quality management，especially the risk prevention and quality management of key departments. Medical staff should improve the level of medical technology，fully fulfill the obligation to inform，and write medical records with high efficiency and quality，so as to reduce and avoid the occurrence of medical disputes of underage patients.
