Abstract:Objective：To investigate the effects of cleaner management in preventing infection in the neonatal ward，and to provide a clean environment for newborns. Methods：The personal quality of cleaning personnel was investigated through fluorescent labeling method and electronic questionnaires. The environmental quality was monitored by colony culture techniques.The problems of the cleaners were found out, and the appropriate countermeasures were proposed. Results：The recognition rate of cleaning project in the cleaners reached 100%，and the clearance rate of fluorescence labeling method on the surface of high-frequency contact objects was increased from 54.8% to 82.4%，and the air quality monitoring results reached the highest level in the second-class area（0 cfu/15 min·plate），and the detection rate of multi-drug-resistant bacteria infection was significantly reduced. Conclusions：The management could help the cleaning staff not only master the knowledge related to infection prevention in the neonatal ward，but also put it into the action，which reduce the second infection of the newborn greatly.
