Abstract:Objective：To eliminate the potential risks affecting medical quality and safety by applying information technology to track and control the process of specimen transfer. Methods：By applying wireless networks，barcodes，mobile terminals，information integration，and other technologies in accordance with JCI hospital evaluation standards，the hospital information system（HIS）and laboratory information system（LIS）were effectively integrated to achieve the information management of the key aspects of specimen transfer process. Results：The staffs’ job responsibilities were clarified，the specimen transfer process optimized，and the key links of specimen transfer throughout the process managed. Conclusions：Through preventing and reducing human error，standardizing the transfer process of specimens in all departments，the quality of specimens before the analysis stage could be ensured.
