Abstract:Objective：To compare the hospitalization expenses of the patients with cerebral infarction before and after the medical reform，and provide the practical basis for the cost control of medical reform. Methods：Respective 100 cases of hospitalized patients with cerebral infarction before and after the medical reform were chosen to extract the basic data and medical expenses data. The patients’ basic data were analyzed by chi square test，and the hospitalization expenses were compared by Mann-Whitney U rank sum test. Results：The patient’s age，sex，payment method，and the length of stay had no statistical significance（P > 0.05），which effectively prevented the samples’ deviation. Before and after medical reform，total medical expenses of patients with cerebral infarction did not decrease，comprehensive medical service fees，diagnostic fees and treatment fees increased（P < 0.05），medical consumables fees decreased（P < 0.05），drug fees stayed unchanged（P > 0.05）. Conclusion：Before and after medical reform，the dominant total hospitalization expenses of patients with cerebral infarction increased. If the increased total hospitalization expenses which included time value of capital could buy more high quality medical service，the total hospitalization expenses had actually decreased. The cost control of medical reform should be fully considered in terms of new technology application，medical price adjustment，multiple medical reform measures and time value of capital effects on total medical expenses.
