Abstract:Objective：To analyze the occupational status of pediatricians in comprehensive hospitals under the “second child” policy，and to explore ways to improve the current status of pediatrician occupations. Methods：The relevant indicators from 2015 to 2017 of pediatricians in a comprehensive hospital in Wuxi were collected，such as number，sex，age，educational background，positional title，workload，annual income，the number of published research papers，the number of complaints and so on. And they were compared horizontally and vertically with the average level of all the other doctors from the hospital. Results：The composition of pediatricians in comprehensive hospitals was unreasonable. Their workload was heavy but the income was low，their research abilities were weak，and the conflict between doctors and patients was tense. Conclusion：The poor current occupational status is the main reason leading to the shortage of pediatricians. It is necessary to make more efforts to increase job attraction.
