Abstract:Objective：To analyze doctor-patients’ differences of medical information security, and provide references for formulating feasible countermeasures in a large hospital. Methods：Using the method of stratified sampling，a modified questionnaire survey of 17 variables related to medical private information was conducted among the medical staffs and patients in a large hospital in North Jiangsu province. The cognitive differences of medical information importance between the two groups were compared using Chi square test or T test method. Results：Total of 360 persons were selected，in which 336 valid questionnaires were collected including 165 patients and 171 medical staffs.There was no significant difference in age and gender between the two groups，however，the education level of medical staffs was significantly higher than that of patients. The overall score of medical staffs group（41.55 ± 8.43）was significantly higher than that of the patients group（39.01 ± 8.23）in the medical information security awareness，mainly in the importance cognition in 8 kinds of medical privacy information（P＜0.05），such as the identity card information，hospital information，treatment information and so on. Further，the higher education level was，and the more attention to medical privacy was. Conclusion：The cognition of medical privacy information security of medical staffs was significantly higher than that of patients. In the terms of the countermeasures，it would be more effective to improve the awareness of patients’privacy protection.
